Sills & Betteridge Solicitors and the HSBC Bank held a joint "Taking Your Business Forward In 2011" Business Seminar at The Gainsborough Golf Club on Wednesday 25th May 2011. There was a fantastic turnout from local business with 25 attendees who came to listen to presentations from the speakers on a variety of commercial subjects.
The presentations included an Economic Update from Martin Lyons, Area Commercial Director for the HSBC interesting look at the economy and likely trends over the coming 12 months. Sharon Nadin, a debt recovery expert from Sills & Betteridge, explained the benefits on company cash flow from employing a pro-active approach to chasing bad debt. Shan Jaerig, a partner and employment law specialist from Sills, then examined the importance of employee contracts and the many pitfalls which face employers when changing terms in their employess contracts of employment. Finally Tim Higham, an expert in web compliance, gave an overview of the legal requirements which company websites must abide by.
The final part of the seminar involved an open Question & Answer session with the panel of speakers, which the attendess used to answer all of their queries. Again this was used to great effect with some very interesting and at times probing questions from the floor. The evening was ended with an informal "networking" session and some great food provided by the golf club.
We would like to thank everyone for the great feedback we have received from the event and we look forward to hosting another event in the near future. Our thanks also goes out to Kate and the team at Gainsborough Golf Club for their hard work in ensuring that the event went so smoothly, well done all.
