Well great weather for the 15th Annual Lincoln 10k road race yesterday.
The response was fantastic from the population of Lincoln who turned out in huge numbers to support all the runners and the represented charities including the Sills & Betteridge chosen charity for 2011 the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (L.I.V.E.S) First Responders. Myself and my partner Jackie were collecting throughout the event and it was lovely to see how generous people were being, even with the current financial climate and a number of collections on the day from a variety of worthy causes. Thank you all. We raised £80 on the day including the kind donations of Sills staff on Friday.
The race itself was a sell out with all 5500 places taken. On the day the weather clearly boosted the spirits of the runners and there were a record 4069 people completed the course with every runner crossing the line in under 2 hrs. The winner, Bruce Raeside crossed the line in a remarkable 30:15 with Jenny Blizard the first female across in 35:10.
As usual a number of Sills & Betteridge solicitors were running in the event. Well done to everyone, all under the hour, and here are the times and finishing positions.
Time Final Position
Dale Brownless 45:04 614
Ed Capes 49:51 1237
Chris Milne 50:41 1494
Brad White 53:06 1888
Hayley Hall 54:16 2122
Martyn Hall 54:17 2130
